@annakathryn1207: me🤝step maxxing honestly if you’re working out and still not seeing progress, I highly reccomend looking at what your movement looks like throughout the day outside of that dedicated workout. Steps are so so important and has made such a difference for me in my journey of losing 133! #stepgoal #dailysteps #winterarc #winterarcchallenge #winterarc2026
Something that works for me personally is having a *weekly* step goal instead of daily, since some days I have the time to go for a long walk and others it’s pretty much just work, eat, sleep. Recently I was trying to average 8000 a day for the week, I had one day at 3000 and the next day with 13,000 because that was what worked with my schedule

Nah at some point any amount of exercise has to be enough. It’s impossible to fully optimize your life. Why does it feel like we’re constantly raising the bar on wellness?

I have a desk job but I got a sit to stand desk so at lest I’m not sitting the entire time. Gym in the morning, yoga on my lunch break, evening walk or bike ride. It’s also amazing how much movement I get in on the weekends from cleaning and gardening.

This is exactly what was happening to me. I was working out consistently and then just sitting the rest of the time. No progress! Now with steps it’s changed everything

I love video games so I got a walking pad and can play games while walking. I do 4 20 minute intervals on work days and more on days off! Makes walking fun and it goes by really quick!

I love front loading my steps! A 30 min walk every morning gets me to at least 3500 then I usually do another walk in the afternoon + random steps at home, at the gym etc it works well!!

I’ve gotten in the habit of taking the stairs to a different floor at work and walking on my breaks.

Yes! I started doing a 10 minute walk once I’ve been at work for at least an hour and then walking 30-45 minutes at lunch. Then if I have to use the bathroom I try to go to the one farther away. It breaks up my work day and gives me ~5-6k steps by the end of my work day without feeling like I’m really trying. Then I get the rest of my steps either in the gym or doing housework

Hitting 10k steps is so difficult! I walked just under 4 miles yesterday and I thought for sure I had hit 10k steps but nope! 8500. I don’t have an Apple Watch I just use the health app on my phone so my normal steps don’t get tracked and I’m not sure if we are supposed to be factoring those in anyway.

This is office worker issues. Sitting all day but then getting 30 mins of activity is nothing

I get 10k steps a day just by commuting to work. I walk 30 min to get the train and then walk to the office from the station. do that on the way back and it’s fantastic. It wakes me up at the start of the day and helps me decompress by the end so by the time I’m home I’m not thinking about work. and then I get to read on the train! I do salsa classes and do want to incorporate the gym back into my life but I’m feeling a lot better knowing I am moving around before and after work without really thinking about it

Yes! Quit my childcare job for a desk job a few years ago and gained 20 pounds. Same gym schedule, same diet. Missed my old job too much and went back it, it all just about fell back off. It's the whole day that matters.
