My dad passed away 7 months before my wedding. When we went to look for a ring for my husband, my dad’s fit perfect. 26 years later and dad is “still with us” on my husbands hand. He cherishes that ring like he does me.

my daughters dad passed before she got married. her brother walked her down the isle. when the officiant said " who gives this woman to this man: all of her male uncles and cousins (and her brother) stood up and said: we do". it was lovely

At our wedding, we took a photo with each table at the reception. We used that photo as their thank you card (inserted photo into a photo card). That allowed them to remember who was at their table as well as to have a photo with us. Everyone loved getting their card!

We had a Lego themed wedding. The center pieces were bowls of Legos for people to play with. They started out bartering with other tables but it slowly devolved into the adults sending the kids to various tables to steal certain Legos 😂 we have so many projects that people had made us. We did our best to save them all. It was so much fun for us and everyone. Just wish they had the Lego flowers at the time. Would have made an awesome bouquet

we had a soft serve ice cream truck that also made milkshakes and sundaes instead of cake… everyone got exactly what they wanted and we only had to pay per item, so it ended up being half the price of a cake for the same number of people. it was a steamy 85 degrees that day, people still tell me that it was their favorite part!

I’ve been to a kids summer camp wedding as well! It was the best wedding I’ve ever been too! We all stayed at the camp the whole weekend. Friday was a welcome bonfire with smores, beer and wine. Saturday we had a brunch with endless mimosas and Bloody Marys. Then we went ziplining. Then we had the wedding & the reception lasted all night long. Sunday morning was goodbye brunch with bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys. This was in 2013 and i remember every min of it! It was also in hill country tx. With 85 degree days and 60 degree nights. It was sooo perfect!!

We eloped but our parents threw us a surprise reception a few months later. They set up a screen and played the video of our 5 minute ceremony. It was the perfect mix of a beautiful, non-anxiety wedding day and being able to celebrate with family and friends. I highly recommend.

my brother and his now ex wife skipped having a cake and had a make your own Sundae bar instead. it was a bit with everyone. It tied into the ice cream van at their engagement party which was a bigger hit.

We had a Nintendo switch connected to a projector at the reception, all the kids were entertained all night then the adults had a Mario cart Knockout competition to complete the evening.

We had a special tea-blend made that we served with the cake, it was also the favours for the guests (a vial of loose leaf to take home). The best part is that the tea shop that made the blend keeps all their recipe’s so we can always have it at home, and several of the guests have also bought more of it afterwards! 😍

My grandfather lost his only daughter when I was 3m old. His son (bio dad) disappeared on all of us shortly after (POS). I (surprised)asked him to dance with me since neither of us would ever get to do this in our lives because we were both missing a person. The song was dance with my father by Luther. Ppl were HYSTERICALLY crying

I dont have anything to do with my dad so I asked my uncle (technically my mums cousin) to give me away on my wedding day, he lost his wife earlier that year and i was a bridesmaid at their wedding when I was younger so him walking me down the isle really felt like we'd come full circle. I will forever be grateful for the love that man showed me and how he stepped up when my dad stepped down x

Our centerpieces were cakes too but there were different flavors at each table. So if you had vanilla and your wanted red velvet you had to go talk with other tables. It was awesome! People still talk about it and we’re 17 years in.

We wanted a Photo Booth but instead we got several disposable cameras for each table, so we got a ridiculous amount of fantastic candid pics of all our loved ones on top of the paid photographer pics. I actually liked the “real” pictures best.
