Somewhere in there he stopped being a vendor and became a friend. If he was just swimming in cash he’d have brought back the real one, and that’s the part that matters. The work is easy when you like who you’re doing it with. Six years of friendship is the actual return, and no watch covers it. That’s the lesson… business doesn’t have to be superficial and transactional, the best dealings become personal and the relationship protects the business bc now we care on a deeper level how both parties are affected by our decisions.
