This! I honestly think there was always an obsession with relationships but the internet amplified it & gave folks permission to lean into it. Things that used to be conversations amongst friends are now public, think pieces. Whole social media accounts devoted to it. The sad part is it is changing the dynamics between men and women because each gender is unconsciously shifting how they think and move because of the prevalence of the conversations. The conspiracy theorist in me is side eyeing all of this.

Agree, also I believe that many people do not know how to regulate their own emotions, or to practice self fulfillment, so they have romanticized a partner that will regulate their emotions and provide that fulfillment.
