From the video, it is not clear whether he tied the wall into the stiffener column. Perhaps he is relying on the concrete to fill the cavities in the bricks, effectively tying the wall to the column. I understand that building codes and construction methods can differ from country to country.

No trades smart enough to do this anymore and engineering rules and regulations don’t match old school even though the old school methods and other means that are still standing hundreds of years later need them university people to say that they actually did something change some rules and regulations

That column will fail. A concrete vibrator was not used to agitate the concrete to fill up ,plus the rear frame is very weak

I would have tied in the sides to the original wall to the rebar cage with rebar.
