When insurgent forces captured Gwoza, declared it the headquarters of their "Islamic Caliphate," and unleashed systematic violence, the world watched in real time as an entire community was torn apart. Hundreds were massacred, thousands were abducted, and ancestral homes were reduced to ashes. Over a decade later, the crisis for the people of Gwoza is far from over.More than 120,000 Gwoza residents remain scattered across IDP camps.
