as far as my experience goes working at these places there are more out of town workers than locals.

I moved from Johnstown to Frazeysburg to escape all the development last year and now this😑 excited to see all the work as a Union pipefitter but frazeysburg is definitely gonna lose it’s small town charm. Property values probably gonna explode along with taxes just like Johnstown. Definitely interested to see how it goes!

About 25 minutes from me… i believe you live close to me.. I hope this area doesn’t turn into new Albany.. I work for a power company and part of the IBEW.. while I think the work is going to be good for job security for me.. I could see myself retiring and leaving the state if it keeps going like over there..

I’ve read that the thousands of jobs is during construction with a lot of the labor from outside the area. I can’t find good info on long term jobs being provided..wondering if anyone has insight on that?

It’s temporary. It’s a lot of work now. Eventually these data centers will slow down and when they are built, you got maybe 50 people running it. They hire in house mechanics, usually MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) so us union guys aren’t getting the work. It’s good for when they are being built. But after that it’s several IT guys, couple hr/office guys, several mechanical guys.
