groundwasps? groundhornets? I can't remember what they are but they nest like in the ground and theyare pretty territorial. often get people who were mowing their lawn.

ground bees there's a nest in your lawn. back in the 90s we would poor gas on the nest and that would kill them. don't suggest doing that now
