People will record but dont know the next process. Go to the station she's from, make sure you have her name and badge number then request her bodycam footage and get a lawyer THEN report her to internal affairs

Can a stroke cause seizures? Yes. Here's how a neurologist tells whether a seizure after a stroke is a one-time event or post-stroke epilepsy. November is Epilepsy Awareness Month. 🧠 ⏱️ Seizure in the first 7 days after a stroke Doctors call this an acute symptomatic, or provoked, seizure. The brain is reacting to fresh injury. About 1 in 3 people go on to have another seizure over the next 10 years. ⏱️ Seizure more than 7 days after a stroke This one comes from the healing scar in the brain. About 7 in 10 people will have another within 10 years. That risk is high enough that a single seizure counts as epilepsy under the International League Against Epilepsy definition. This is usually when seizure medicine starts. Doctors usually don't start it
Can a stroke cause seizures? Doctors usually don't start it "just in case" before any seizure, because it hasn't been shown to prevent epilepsy. 📊 How common is it? After an ischemic stroke (a clot), about 4% of people have a late seizure within a year, and about 8% within five years. The highest-risk stretch is the first year. In older adults, stroke is the most common known cause of new epilepsy. ⚠️ Who's at higher risk • Bleeding strokes (hemorrhage) more than clots • Larger, more severe strokes • Strokes that reach the cortex, the brain's outer surface • Having a seizure in the first week • Being younger when the stroke happened 👀 What seizures after stroke can look like They're often focal, not full-body shaking. Watch for: • a hand or arm that twitches or jerks • one side of the face pulling • a stare you can't break • a short spell of confusion 🆘 What to do: Stay, Safe, Side Stay with them and time it. Move hard objects away. Turn them on their side. Nothing in the mouth, and don't hold them down. Call 911 if: • it lasts over 5 minutes • it's their first seizure ever • they're injured or having trouble breathing • it happens in water • another seizure follows I'm Dr. Pasky aneurologist. This is education, not a diagnosis, so talk to your own care team about your situation. Send this to whoever's caring for a stroke survivor. #Neurointerpret #stroke #epilepsy #epilepsyawareness #neurology
