My dad always said “when I go to Italy” and he never did it. He died in 2016. In 2019 I took my girls and husband to Italy. When we landed in Rome, I whispered to my dad, “we did it”.

My aunt and uncle saved money their whole lives. Lived in a quaint house and never had kids. They finally decided to retire and they were going to travel abroad for the first time ever. They were calling it their “summer of love”. A month before they were scheduled to leave, he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. He died within 6 weeks. They never got their summer of love. They worked hard for 60 years and then it was just gone. Do things now. Live your life now!

This happen to my dad. He was supposed to retire, decided to work one additional year and during that year died of a heart attack. I only wish all the beautiful things he had planned for retirement that we were so excited to see happen to such a good man would have happened for him[Twin hearts]

My BF was diagnosed with cancer on Thursday and died right in front me the following Thursday, everything was fine until it wasn’t and that experience has me living by the motto “do it now!” I’m sorry for your loss! I hope you’re hanging in there!

My Aunt worked her ASS off her whole life for retirement. She got cancer the year before, worked at home through treatments and after a long battle she didn’t make it. She never had kids and left a huge chunk of money to me. It feels so weird to have it. I’m angry she worked her whole life and never got to relax or use it to do anything special. I’ve vowed to use it ONLY on things I’ll remember when I’m old and grey. First up: Thailand in December. I’m also applying to a writing residency. We’re both writers who were scared to share our work. I feel like I owe it to her to go bolder and LIVE.
