Yea ur just chatting bro. Omni prescience is different than free will which is in theory what you’re referring to. We have free will but that doesn’t bend the reality of the world.

Effort is an instance of free will. Even if you logically believe that doing X action will lead to a beneficial outcome in the longterm, theres no reason to believe a person cant freely have more or less effort towards that goal.
Another example is doing something with no inherent benefit for the sake of self imposed morals or values

People have different options of things to do, they choose one option and not the other. But it is possible that they could have chosen the other option (wether it was more likely or not)

Every action you make is determined/calculated through past experiences you’ve had. If someone else lives your exact life, down to every little detail, they would always make the exact same choice as you in every situation. No one willingly makes a choice they don’t think is the best choice, and what you think is the best choice entirely depends on your past experiences, therefore every choice you make is entirely determined by what has happened to you

Why does only doing what you want negate free will though? Can’t decision making still exist within a framework of desires?

are you saying that each person will act they way they act, because that’s how they act? Like their life is going to make them act in certain ways cause that’s who they are?

I’m not religious and I’m not taking their side but what do you mean you can control your desires? That’s an incredibly flawed argument

“You cant control you desires” is not true at all psychologically. So your entire argument falls apart instantly

Free will can’t exist because that would mean it’s a mechanical game. It’s a duality ☯️tho. If it was free will you could escape the bad side of the duality ☯️, but you will experience extreme frustration this week.

So let's say that we can't control what we like right?? That's a part of our make up, but the part where free will comes in is in how you react to what you like. You see you don't have to stay in an environment that you don't like or you can stay. You don't have to choose to do something that you like or you can choose to do it. The person with no free will is forced one way or the other, and who is forced??

If you can only do what you want then you have actually hit the final conclusion of freewill, the ultimate conclusion, freedom true freedom has never been “doing what you want” it’s having something you want to do and not doing it because it is right. You desire to hit someone but you know hitting people is wrong so you don’t that is true freedom. When the flesh doesn’t control the soul.

you can't control your wants and desires...hmm..and it's not about the thoughts...free will is about the action...its like what Christians call sin...the Sin isn't the thought...it's the action...even if someone forces your desires....you still have to choose the outcome.
