Get a better metal rod. Something solid. Not the hollow aluminum rod you have that’s honestly not that strong

Reinforce the center rod to the top so the weight can get distributed evenly, might have to add more than one centering anchor of sorts. That way the weight of the clothing can be supported not just by the end to end rod but also the center.

Need more support in the middle areas, perhaps two more points of support. Also, a 50% reduction of all that would help. Take away the credit card. 😁

Your issue is the centre is bearing all that weight. Wardrobes with longer poles often use a reinforcement in the centre to support the weight distribution. Your poles will continue snapping/bending until you reinforce the centre.

Get one of these. They help spread the load.

You need center support, not optional. Next, the clothing needs to be swapped out seasonally and the rest go into space bags

the real suggestion is asking your wife to go through her clothes and donate what she hasn't used in ages or feels like she doesn't need anymore

You can already see the bow in the middle of the rod. You need a heavy duty rod. That rod doesn’t look like it’s very heavy duty

Tell your wife it's time to purge. A good rule to follow is you get rid of 2 things for every 1 you bring in until things are more manageable.

Center brace should fix the buckling and not take too much space.

you would be better off with an iron pipe. you could spray pain it. it will hold so much more weight than any hollow metal rod or wooden rod.
