I can’t believe people pay over sticker for a Ford truck. It’s not a G wagon. It’s Ford truck. And Ford would be smart to make a lot more if they’re that much in demand.

So like, isn’t not selling the thing at MSRP what scalpers do? Is my local car dealership considered the “secondary market”? Why isn’t it just MSRP plus tax title and doc? The dealership certainly isn’t paying MSRP so they even make a profit. If that truck sits on the lot for more than 30 days the dealership is going to be paying interest on their loan. So why wouldn’t they just want to turn it over in one day and then use the money to buy more cars to sell more cars to buy more cars to sell more cars. Do they hate profit? I’m confused.

manufacturers should pull allocations for every vehicle a dealer sells over MSRP. dealerships exist because they convinced Congress that manufacturers will price gouge. no one realized that it was really so the dealerships can price gouge.
