@_emmab929: Knicks Champion Jose Alvarado is being hailed a hometown hero in Brooklyn. The intersection of Knickerbocker and Myrtle Avenues in Bushwick is being named in his honor. The NBA champion grew up in a public housing development in Brooklyn and now, part of Knickerbocker Avenue bears his name.  Alvarado told the crowd he is starting a foundation. My 7yr old son joined the rec basketball bc of the the Knicks win, he loves basketball now and he plays all the time at recess! We were at the knickerbocker PR parade this summer and we saw Jose after the win it was mind blowing!
