Hours is a bit of a stretch, people have lives outside of you and are sometimes genuinely so busy they can't respond, or they simply don't have the energy to in the moment. If it's consistently been several days between them texting you back and they don't ever make plans with you and/or flake out on them, then drop them.

This isn't always true. For me, I feel like I'm being a burden because we're adults with families and responsibilities. How long do you keep a texting conversation going without feeling like you're just being annoying? I'm Autistic and social cues are hard to grasp, especially in the moment.

This is the most toxic narrative. If they don’t text you for days YES. But, if they initiate texts and some times take several hours to respond it has no weight on their interest. After you’re seeing each other for a month or two, it’s not sustainable to text all day every day. As long as it’s daily communication it’s all good. And if they’re still spending time with you and present in person, that’s what matters

normalize prioritizing friendships too. yes life can be busy, chaotic and loud as an adult but friendships are so so important. we have become too non chalant about “not owing anyone anything”. all relationships require time and EFFORT

Maybe I am petty but they didnt reply to my last messages so I am not doing it know that they are writing me. Its really hard because I love them but I noticed that I am always replying and when I need an open ear they dont write back or it is just smt like "oh no"

Honestly I can be interested in somebody and still not reply back. There are days I message back consistently and others I just want to be left alone. I don’t try to force myself to have conversations. I also don’t live on my phone and I hyperfocus and over stimulate easily
