Not trying to change your thoughts at all but I was diagnosed with this as well and MONTHS later got allergy testing done and I was allergic to one of the most common humectants!!!!! Not sure if you’ve done that yet!

My mum has this type of alopecia!!! She now owns a wig and topper company!! I convinced her to shave her head a few years ago and she feels so so free!!! Sending love 🫶🏻

It's ok your hair doesn't make you who you are. I know that's easier said than felt. And I totally relate about struggling with acne and how that feels. Then I had some hair problems and also lost a lot of hair after having my kid. Had literal bald patches. I started taking spironolactone, that made my hair so thick again. Idk if that would help your particular situation but. Hair or no hair I'm still going to be following YOU ❤️🫶

You will need Spironolactone as well as the minoxidil. Spironolactone will block the androgen.

I just got diagnosed too girls, only in my early 30s I didn’t think it would happen at this age!! Getting a second opinion tomorrow and seeing a naturopath to help correct anything internal. So afraid to start lifelong meds

I totally understand this. Unless you have female hair loss, you can’t even begin to understand. Praying everything you’re doing helps. And I second getting an allergy test to be sure that’s the actual problem.

I’m going through the same thing. Im losing hair exactly how you are. Putting two clip extensions on each side helps me fill in the gaps like you have on the sides. It’s hard. Thank you for talking about it… I’m not alone 🥺

I’ve had androgenic alopecia for 10 years now. I’ve worn wigs, I hated them so don’t think that is your only option, they are not for me everyone. I have a full head of hair now (still thin but full) with oral minoxidil, spirolactone and keeping my scalp healthy (I have scalp psoriasis).

Just got diagnosed here too via skin biopsy two weeks ago. I actually started with telogen effluvium and when I started to shed, it revealed the alopecia.

I had alopecia areata right at the start of this year and It was so hard.. so hard seeing the thinning and hair falling in chunks.. I managed to grow my hair back but it has never been the same, you’re not alone ❤️
