@rinneyt: Illustrator Yunayu has deleted her viral drawing of Draco Malfoy reimagined as a girl and apologized after learning about the controversy surrounding the trend. The artwork was part of the recent “Malfoid” wave, which exploded across social media in late September, with some fan artworks reaching tens of thousands of likes. The name itself combines “Malfoy” with “foid”, an internet slur aimed at women. The controversy goes beyond the artwork itself. J.K. Rowling’s long-running conflict with transgender activists has led some fans and activists to boycott or distance themselves from Harry Potter, arguing that promoting the franchise also gives Rowling attention and potential financial benefit. Yunayu said she only learned about the situation after finishing the drawing and stressed that she never intended to offend anyone. She later apologized again after taking the artwork down.

If you're wondering, the reason some people are mad is because of Harry Potter's association with J.K. Rowling.
