Her rating at the end 💀 you guys picked homemade Oreos for my Polish wife 😬 Recipe: COOKIES 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 3/4 cup black cocoa powder 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup unsalted butter, soft 1 cup granulated sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla FILLING 1/4 cup unsalted butter, soft 1/4 cup refined coconut oil, solid (refined, not virgin) 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar 1 tsp vanilla Pinch of salt 1-2 tsp milk, as needed METHOD 1. Whisk the flour, black cocoa, baking soda and salt together. Black cocoa is the whole recipe. Regular cocoa gives you a brown cookie that reads instantly as homemade on camera; black cocoa gives the near black colour and the slightly bitter, almost burnt note that makes an Oreo taste like an Oreo. 2. Beat the butter and sugar 3 minutes until light, add the egg and vanilla, then the dry mix on low just until it comes together. 3. Split the dough in two, press into discs between parchment, chill 30 minutes. 4. Roll to 1/8 inch thinner than feels right. Cut 2-inch rounds. Re-roll scraps once. 5. Optional and worth it: press the pattern in with the flat tines of a fork around the rim and a bottle cap in the middle. 6. 350F for 9-11 minutes. They will feel soft coming out and crisp completely as they cool pull them at soft or you get charcoal. 7. Filling. The coconut oil goes in solid and soft. Beat it with the butter 3 minutes, then the powdered sugar, vanilla and salt, adding milk a half-teaspoon at a time until stiff and pipeable. Refined coconut oil is what keeps the filling firm at room temperature and crumbly rather than creamy, which is the actual difference between this and a chocolate sandwich cookie. 8. Pipe a mound on the flat side of half the cookies, top and press until the filling just reaches the edge. #tiktokrecipecontest #cookingchallenge #homemade #oreo
