New York stopped issuing citations months ago for missing or expired inspections stickers. And under New York regulations police vehicles are exempt from specific routine inspections. Most states use digital system for stickers rather than physical.

The police would rather harass the citizenry before admitting that they were actually wrong and pay out any law suits for civil rights violations because penalties are paid by the tax payers. ignorance of the law needs to go both ways, End qualified immunity.
