It’s a legitimate fear. I’m 17, still in high school, and I own a car detailing business that makes around $5,000 a month. It’s not a crazy amount of money, but it’s pretty decent for someone my age. A few months ago, I told my now ex girlfriend that I couldn’t buy her the expensive bag she wanted for her birthday because I had to put my business on hold while helping take care of my sick grandfather. She dumped me that same day and told me that my number one priority should be making money for her and giving her nice things, even though we’re literally in HIGH SCHOOL.

You can still be used for money. For example, if he/she always expects you to pay for everything and only likes you or wants you because you know you’ll pay for it one way or another, whether thats scraping for change or using a credit card
