There is a story some people at UTH don’t like talking about. At University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka, there are stories nurses don’t like telling new workers. One of them is about a doctor who walks through the hospital after midnight. Nobody knows his name. Nobody knows which ward he came from. But people who have seen him say the same thing: He never walks toward you. He always walks past you. But because the people who claim they saw him or describe the same man They say that sometimes, after midnight, a doctor can be seen walking through the hospital. He wears a white coat. He carries a file under his arm. And he walks like he’s still coming to work. The strange part? The doctor has been dead for years. It supposedly started with a nurse named Chanda. One night, just after 1:30 AM, Chanda was coming from one of the wards when she noticed a doctor walking ahead of her. She didn’t think much of it. Doctors moved around the hospital at all hours. As she got closer, she noticed his coat looked old. He was also holding a patient’s file. Chanda called out: “Doctor?” The man stopped walking. He turned slightly. “Which ward is patient 17 in?” Chanda pointed toward the next corridor. “Ward 3.” The doctor nodded and continued walking. Something about the way he spoke bothered her. So she followed him. When she reached Ward 3, she asked one of the nurses if a doctor had just come through. The nurse looked confused. “What doctor?” “The one carrying a file. He was asking about patient 17.” The nurse stared at her. Then she asked: “What did he look like?” Chanda described him. The nurse’s expression changed. She quietly called another nurse. Then another. Nobody laughed. Nobody joked. Finally, one of the older nurses asked Chanda: “Did he have a small scar above his eyebrow?” Chanda nodded. The room went completely quiet. The older nurse told her that the doctor had worked at UTH many years earlier. He had been known for doing late-night rounds. But he had died years ago after becoming ill. Chanda didn’t believe her. Until the nurse opened an old staff photograph on her phone. Chanda looked at the picture. Her stomach tightened. It was the same man. Same face. Same scar. Same tired expression. And he was wearing the exact same style of white coat. Chanda stared at the photograph. Then she noticed something that made her put the phone down. The file the doctor had been carrying… had the same patient number he had asked about. Patient 17. The older nurse looked at her and whispered: “That’s the patient he was treating when he died.” Chanda asked: “What happened to the patient?” The nurse didn’t answer immediately. She simply looked toward the corridor. Then she said: “Go back to your ward.” But that wasn’t the last time Chanda saw the doctor. Because three nights later… another nurse saw him. And this time, he wasn’t asking about a patient. He was walking toward the operating theatre… with a surgical mask in his hand…. #fyp #foryou #zambiantiktok🇿🇲 #viral - @tiamber10
