@Lavender:I don't think its boring,everyone misunderstood Cathy,she was raped at 5 and her perspective on men or people in general change.she became very aware and learnt how to protect herself through the trauma and the reason she was bad to Adam is because he was the only person that ever loved her and cared for her,and the reason she wanted to be a whore is because of the trauma caused by the rape and hypersexuality .in the end she finds peace when she meets her younger self whom she was protecting the whotime

I have a degree in English literature and am granddaughter of a librarian. John Steinbeck, the author is notorious for his dark subject matter. The way this book has been turned into a miniseries is a masterpiece. And Florence Pugh is killing it as Cathy.
