Trying to give the benefit of the doubt here… maybe the fabric is a lot nicer in person than what it looks (very possible). But, as a sewist myself, I feel like the price is exploitative. I can’t see anything that would take longer than 6 hours or so, and that’s generous. That’s almost $100/hr for wages. If people want to pay that, they can and should, but I think it’s also valid to criticize it. Not everyone sews and can understand the difference between exploitation and charging what you’re worth and it’s unfair to pose it as the second one when it’s the first.

I feel like we're at a critical point in history where if people refuse to accept the cost of something crafted by hand, by a real person, then they should learn how to do it themselves. maybe they *can* do it better/ cheaper. but for people with zero experience just ASSUMING. it's asinine.

I think people are becoming annoyed at your insistence that they must agree with you on how much the dress is worth. If you have a customer base willing to pay what you’re asking and keep you in business, what is the purpose of all this? Whose mind are you trying to change and why?

It amazes me that you are so generous, that you post videos teaching people how to sew FOR FREE! But, when one person decides they saw something they can try to catch you on and drag you through the mud, it has turned into a MOB MENTALITY in the comments.

It’s a fun CUSTOM made dress. As long as the customer loves it nothing else matters! People are so cruel and I’m sorry for the hate you are getting, it’s so wild. 🫣 Other people are spending THOuSANDS of dollars on a dress off the rack and don’t think twice about it. People have different likes and dislikes and that’s perfectly normal, it’s awful when they feel the need to say hurtful or rude things on something they don’t like. They must be deeply insecure to crap on someone else. The theme you described for the wedding makes perfect sense for this type of dress. It’s beautifully made. ❤️

Is the dress worth $700? Well, if someone is willing to pay that, I suppose it is. As a designer and sewist, my customers wouldn’t, but that’s not your problem 😅 get the bag!

Gorgeous wedding dress! I showed my preschooler and her is vastly overestimating my current sewing skills. I told her when machine needles go on sale we will try it together, I have a feeling those feathers would be sticky.
