@hitchlife: Here is one of the offshore jobs almost nobody talks about — and it could be your way into the industry. 👀🌊 How much can an offshore cleaner actually make working FIFO on an oil rig? A lot more than most people expect. As an offshore cleaner, your job can involve keeping cabins, bathrooms, accommodation areas, offices, and common spaces clean and maintained while hundreds of workers are living and working onboard. And unlike jobs like drilling or engineering, you don't necessarily need years of industry experience to get started. Now, let's talk about the money. You might see offshore cleaning jobs advertised around $60 an hour, and if you're working a 12-hour shift, that's $720 for the day. Work that for 14 days and you're looking at $10,080 gross before taxes, overtime, bonuses, or other adjustments. But here's the important part — $60 an hour isn't a guaranteed starting rate everywhere. Your actual pay can depend on the country, employer, contract, experience, overtime, and the type of offshore installation you're working on. And yes, both men and women can work in offshore cleaning and accommodation roles. While you're onboard, your employer may also provide accommodation and meals, and travel to and from the installation can be covered depending on your contract. Then there's the rotation. If you're working a 14-days-on, 14-days-off schedule, you could spend roughly half the year away from the rig — and half the year back home. So if you're looking for an entry point into offshore work, don't overlook the jobs that keep the entire operation running behind the scenes. Would you take an offshore cleaning job if the pay was this good? Comment “OFFSHORE” if you'd consider it.
