It’s the look people give you when you say you’re a full time mum, they look at you like 😟 & I’m at the point where I’m like “yeah no I’m a full time mum, I home educate my 6yo and look after my 1yo” like I’m trying to justify it, they’re my babies why would I want anyone else to be their main care giver 🥲

I feel this way too, but what people don’t understand is it’s actually just as hard as going to work. I work 2 days a week but still feel like I’m embarrassed to be at home in the week? Due to financial/funding reasons we’re better off if she stays home so effectively I don’t have much choice and sometimes I do wish I could go back to work but I also feel lucky. It’s a weird feeling xx

Gosh I’m on mat leave and dreading the day I need to go back to work and hand my baby over to some strangers (and basically pay a second mortgage in nursery fees) so I can answer emails. Honestly, this is the most important job ever and I wish I could afford to be a SAHM. Be proud you’re able to prioritise your baby 🩵

Gurl not at all my other half was the same we are apsalutely petrified of sending our son to nursery with all these crazy stories!!..Be Proud that your actually there to help your baby boys development 1 on 1 you are his home..his teacher.. his cleaner..his chef..his everything that he needs Mama duties aren't easy! 🫶🏽🫶🏽

Yes, feel this 100%! It’s the best decision for me and my partner as neither of us feel ready putting her into nursery and fortunately we are in a position where I can take slightly longer off work (I know not everyone had the choice). However, I definitely get the vibe people think I’m lazy and just choosing not to work as if it wasn’t a conversation between both me and my partner!
