I agree and thats exactly what I did. I retired 2 years ago, and bought a condo in the Philippines at a bank auction for pennies on the dollar and life is more enjoyable.

No thanks, I’m not living to survive, I’m living to enjoy life. Only having $200k in the bank with no income will have you stressed out overseas. Realistically, you need $2 million in the bank with no income or an income of at least $80k minimum. What I learned about living overseas is most Americans can’t shake their American lifestyle, it’s practically impossible for an American to live like a local in these other counties unless that American is just that desperate to survive
