If you’re sitting in a restaurant in Seoul thinking, “Ummm… is my server ever coming back?” 😂🇰🇷 LOOK AT THE TABLE. One of the little differences American travelers may notice when eating at restaurants in Seoul, South Korea is that your server may not repeatedly come back to check on you the way you’re used to at home. At many Korean restaurants, you’ll find a call button right on the table. Need to order? Want another drink? Need something from your server? Press the button. That little ding is basically your “Hey, we’re ready!” without trying to flag somebody down across the restaurant. And this is exactly why I love learning the tiny cultural differences before visiting another country. If you don’t know how Korean restaurant service works, you could easily interpret your server not constantly checking on you as bad service. Meanwhile, they’re giving you space because you’ll let them know when you need them. 😂 It’s such a small Seoul restaurant etiquette tip, but it’s the kind of thing that makes your first dining experience in South Korea a whole lot less confusing. So when you’re eating your way through Seoul and wondering where your server disappeared to… CHECK. THE. TABLE. 👀 Planning a trip to South Korea?
