This video is difficult to watch, but it is a powerful reminder that rabies is preventable. If someone is bitten or scratched by a dog, cat, bat, or other potentially infected animal, wash the wound thoroughly with soap and running water for 15 minutes and seek medical care immediately for post-exposure treatment. Please vaccinate your pets, teach children not to approach unfamiliar animals, and never ignore an animal bite or scratch. Don’t wait for symptoms. By then, it may be too late.
