Sounds like the problem is all in your head. I think I totally understand what you're going through. I'm feeling the same way about Hellraiser right now; it's not fun, and all I see is the game design while playing it, wishing I was playing Star Wars Galactic Racer instead. TitTok has become a problem. I'll pause EVERY game and watch TitTok for 20 minutes to an hour plus before I get back into it.

one of the most disappointing things for me (other than the enemy ai and frustrating stalker type enemy) was the lack of real reward for exploring, we were really spoiled by silent hill 2 remake with all the little details they put in there. you go out of your way in townfall and you just see the same few posters and no unique worldbuilding documents/scenes etc

I actually love the story, script and setting, it's a really nostalgic idea and has so much potential, BUT, it's ruined by the enemy AI mainly, that and the fact that it's fetch quest central under the guise of puzzles 😩 (apart from a section in a health setting, those puzzles were actually kind of cool).

I’ve enjoyed it overall but completely understand the criticism. It’s basically Alien: Isolation in Scotland and intentionally slow paced. Thought the acting was great and loved all attention to detail though! It does absolutely pick up towards the end (I did have to watch an ‘ending explained’ to fully under it but I am quite stupid).

Thankfully they are gonna patch the big guy he is not working as intended for sure, I honestly ended up playing the game on story mode because I don’t like the over relying stealth mechanics, I have no interest waiting ages in a corner to cross a street pass an enemy. Other than that everything is absolutely great you’ll love it stick with it

that part is indeed the most frustrating/slow on your first playthrough i know you're supposed to sneak around the big guy, but when replaying i've just been waiting for him to be a little bit away and then sprinting to the next objective and jumping in the nearest locker, makes it way less tedious imo. you do run faster than him at least on normal difficulty

Literally stopped playing it once I was 75% done with the section you are at because I couldn’t get the creature to stop camping. I deleted the game. I’m so bummed.

I really really love the story and the atmosphere, but I’ll admit I think the game would be far far better if the enemy ai was a lot better. Half the time they just stand in front of where you’re hiding for 30 seconds

even the ending was very unsatisfying imo, it FEELS like they got a new writer on board, and they’re trying to recreate a story or the impact that stories have, from a memory of a story or impact that a story had on him a while back.. bit weak, gutted.

Don’t get why this game is getting so much hate. The environment has been so thoughtfully designed, it’s so nostalgic. The story is intriguing and is revealed at a steady pace. Yes the stalker enemy is irritating but the game is meant to be challenging. I liked how there was a range of gameplay style. It is more of a stealth game but besides from F that’s how silent hill has tended to be

It’s like they’re trying to “improve” how the gameplay works but they just can’t get it right. It doesn’t need to be complicated, it doesn’t need to be fancy, we don’t need in depth stealth or stamina systems. It just needs to be functional and enjoyable to actually play. Both F and Townfall have the same issue for me, SH2R had the most enjoyable gameplay and idk why we have to keep trying to fix what isn’t broken. Am I making sense? 😅
