They are adorable. 🥰 My sis had a dachshund with the same stomach shape. It passed away because of an irreversible and severe gastric illness. I dont wanna give you the fear, but id definitely recommend a vet check. It could just be chubby, I am not a professional, but just to be on the safe side. 💜

With your cat getting comfortable with the pup (knowing rudie wont hurt him) he may be more likely to be mean or bully him, cats are just naturally sadistic, so if you catch it spray him with a bottle or “spit” at him (just the noise) if you think it may be getting too rough, i went through something like that with my cat when i got a new puppy after she stopped being afraid of it, to the point for my new pup wouldnt go anywhere near the cat for like 4 months because the cat would bully her and literally just jump on her for getting too close or walking to an area of the house no one was where she could catch her alone after the initial like half week adjustment stage for kitty not to be scared of pup, but maybe a fixed male is different and more friendly/not as sadistic, im not sure!
