Little me would be SO proud of the woman I’m becoming. The little girl who was bullied, who struggled, who felt like she wasn’t good enough, and who spent so many nights wondering if life would ever get better could never have imagined the future I’m working so hard to build today. She didn’t know how strong she was. She didn’t know that one day she would be chasing her dreams of becoming a Registered Nurse One day, I’m going to wear those RN letters after my name, and when I do, I’ll think about that little girl who refused to let the world convince her that she couldn’t become something special. Every late night studying, every stressful exam, every moment of self-doubt, and every tear shed along the way will mean something. I’m not just working toward a career I’m working toward a dream that little me once could only imagine. I want to be the nurse who makes someone feel safe when they’re scared, who holds someone’s hand when they need comfort, and who reminds people that they matter when life feels unbearable. I want to turn my own pain into compassion and use everything I’ve survived to help someone else feel a little less alone.Life hasn’t always been gentle with me. I’ve faced heartbreak, setbacks, and moments that made me question my strength. There have been days when getting back up felt impossible, but somehow, by the grace of God, I kept going. I’m learning that my past doesn’t define my future and that the little girl who once felt so small can grow into a woman who makes a difference in this world.Sometimes I wish I could go back and hug that little girl. I’d tell her that she was never the cruel things people said she was. I’d tell her that she was worthy, capable, and deserving of every dream she held close to her heart. I’d tell her that one day, she would be working toward becoming a nurse, that she would find strength she never knew she had, and that the very things that once hurt her would help shape her into someone who cares deeply for others.Little me, we’re going to become a Registered Nurse. We’re going to earn those letters, walk across that stage, and prove to ourselves that our dreams were always worth fighting for. We aren’t there just yet, but we’re working for it, one class, one exam, one clinical, and one prayer at a time. And when the day finally comes that I can introduce myself as an RN, I know I’ll carry that little girl with me. She’ll be in every patient I comfort, every hand I hold, every life I touch, and every moment I remember why I started. This journey is for her, for the woman I’m becoming, and for every person who needs a nurse who understands that sometimes the strongest people are the ones who have had to fight the hardest.Little me, I hope you’re proud of us. We still have a long way to go, but look how far we’ve come. One day, those two little letters RN will represent more than a career. They’ll represent our resilience, our faith, determination, and every single time we chose not to give up. And when that day comes, I hope we look back and realize that the little girl who once doubted herself was capable of so much more than she ever imagined. 🤎✨🩺
