This is exactly what happened on me 25 years ago and I had 8 screws on my right elbow 4 around my knee and two the opposite of elbow and the long metal from knee to elbow.

I've done many hip fracture and femur fracture never seen them put a plate on it for that kind of a fracture femoral kneeling is the way to go nobody does that at least not that I've ever seen and I've done those I've never put a plate on
