@switchandclickofficial: I quit big tech and here’s how I replaced everything with open source alternatives! From browsers to search and even ditching Windows for Linux Mint. So peaceful and private! ##OpenSource##TechTok##Privacy##DigitalNomad##SelfHosting
Wasn't DuckDuckGo caught in a scandal a year or two ago about how they were selling data, despite their advertising supposedly being all about privacy?

Once Linux gets better driver support and game optimization I’ll switch that’s the only thing keeping me on windows

There's a small caveat to this: in order to do everything in this video, you need to either be good at tech or know someone who's good at tech. Because while you might be able to do some of these things if you're really determined, most of it will go way above your head. (except for swapping to DuckDuckGo of course, swapping browsers and search engines is pretty easy)

The issue isn't lack of options it's the lack of skill to use them since they are all less compatible with standard user

hint: DuckDuckGo can have worse results than google. SearXNG is probably the best alternative to Google but a quick improvement would be using "Startpage" as search Engine. Ever Result is as good as googles and they are wayyy more privacy focused

As a developer don't use zen browser. it has crazy memory leaks and they're not in a position to solve it.

I use hardened Firefox with Helium browser as a secondary. SearXNG has been great I've been running it up til recently when suddenly it's requiring captchas from its search engines it scrapes from. So I might have to rebuild it since I haven't figured out how to fix it.
Self host everything. Infinitely better owning my shit.

Tbh the Ai result is in most cases faster and more precisely what I need. Ok DuckDuckGo I need to look into several links to find the anwer is search and this take like 10times more time then the Google Ai one. I can hate and think about Ai what u want but it’s faster and way more convenient in most cases
