#History #turkish #ottoman #capcut #ww1 The collapse of the Ottoman Empire wasn’t just the end of one country — it completely changed the modern world. 🌍⚔️ For over 600 years the Ottoman Empire controlled lands across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, connecting continents, cultures, religions and trade routes. At its peak it was one of the most powerful empires in history, feared by Europe and respected across the world. But by the late 1800s it became known as “the sick man of Europe” as corruption, weak leadership, economic decline, nationalism and constant wars slowly tore it apart. The empire struggled to keep up with industrialised European powers like Britain, France and Russia. Different ethnic groups inside the empire also began demanding independence, leading to revolts across the Balkans. Then came World War 1 — the final blow. The Ottomans sided with Germany and the Central Powers, and after defeat in 1918 the empire collapsed completely. Its fall changed EVERYTHING: • Modern Turkey was created under Mustafa Kemal Atatürk 🇹🇷 • The Middle East was divided by European powers • Borders of countries like Iraq, Syria, Jordan and Palestine were drawn • Tensions created after the collapse still affect global politics today • The end of the Ottoman Caliphate shocked the Muslim world • European colonial influence massively expanded in the Middle East Many of today’s conflicts, alliances and political issues can be traced back to the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. Understanding why it fell helps explain why the modern world looks the way it does today. History isn’t just the past — it built the present. 👀
