I don’t think it’s about controlling a man. There’s a difference between control and feeling secure in a relationship. When a woman feels like she has no say, no reassurance, or like she’s constantly chasing someone who does whatever he wants, she may eventually withdraw. Not because she wants to control him, but because she realizes she can’t force someone to meet her where she is. A healthy relationship should feel like two people choosing each other freely, not one person trying to control the other.
