im not sure what type of HV cables you guys use in the states, but they're probably using the regular degular cables that is being used across the country. they might need to invest in either underground supply instead of overhead OR change the cables to XLPE cables that are made corrosion resistant for docks etc. but the only thing is... those cables are mad expensive, so yall will STILL be paying a lot for electricity.

I was born and raised in Norfolk. Never did we have power outages unless during a storm or somebody hit a pole. I am 68. So what is going on in Norfolk. I live 2 hours away now. Is it because of the Nor'eastener you just had. Did that cause salt to buildup. Its weird.

It's the salt from the storms from the Nor Easter. In 2018 I think it was the last time this happened, something like 36 poles caught fire on the same day.
