@mindspark_hq: This film uses horror to explore faith, doubt, and the human need to believe in something. The 2024 film follows two young Mormon missionaries, Sister Barnes and Sister Paxton, who visit the home of Mr. Reed, played by Hugh Grant, only to find themselves trapped in a disturbing psychological game. Rather than simply criticizing religion, directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods built the film around questions about belief and certainty. Why do we believe what we believe? Is there one true religion? And what happens when we die? The filmmakers deliberately chose Mormon missionaries as the protagonists after developing personal connections with members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints while working in Utah. For them, Mormonism became a way into a much broader discussion about faith, religious certainty, and the nature of belief. That is what makes Heretic so unsettling. Its horror is not only about being trapped in a stranger’s house. It comes from being forced to question the beliefs that give you certainty in the first place. 🎬 Heretic (2024) Genre: Horror, Thriller DISCLAIMER: I do not own the rights to the clips or music used in this video.
