Russia is acting out of frustration. They seem to think that attacking civilian buildings will force Ukraine to back down, but they are only escalating and expanding the war. Rebuilding Ukraine may not take five years, but the damage to Russia could last for generations. The countries supporting Russia are struggling with serious economic challenges themselves.
