@statesofgrey: ⚠️ ASH IS HEADING DEEP INTO THE CONGO BASIN. Would you go? This isn’t just dense jungle. His route takes him through a region filled with hippos, forest elephants, snakes, disease-carrying insects and waterways where help can be incredibly far away. And then there’s the legend. For generations, stories from the Congo have told of Mokele-mbembe — a mysterious creature said to inhabit the remote rivers and swamps of the region, sometimes described as something resembling a prehistoric animal. There is no scientific proof that Mokele-mbembe exists. But Ash is about to travel directly through the kind of remote waters where the legend was born. The Congo doesn’t need protecting from Ash. Ash needs to make it out of the Congo. #congo #congobasin #congoanimals #ash #kayaking
