When I was a kid in the 1970s, they would come into Manchester on a rare occasion and go to the dentist. They were dressed in long brown hooded robes and scared me to death! 😂

I used to live in Manchester. You can see this place clearly hiking Mount Equinox. It’s very beautiful, they have one Monk who goes into town once a month to gather supplies.

My great great aunt was a nun with the sisters of st Joseph. When I was young she came to VT from NJ with my great grandma to visit. My Grandma & I took them to the monastery. My great grandma bought me a cross. Great Grandma & Aunt Rose are both gone from this plain but that cross hangs on my wall still, moved multiple times with me & is always the first thing I hang when we move into a new home. 🥰

my grandparents both work there! it really is a fascinating place. the little overlook area up top of the mountain has a Lil prayer room and meditation room, and there's a half mile hike you can take to get a clear view. it's a gorgeous place, really

I can see the tip of equinox as I drive over my small mountain at the base of the VT bordering NY just a glimpse as I go up and over the "summit" aka top of the hill haha

I got lost driving down dirt roads and ended up in there. When I stopped and asked a monk for directions you could tell he hadn’t spoke to anyone in a very long time.
