Fair for simple queries on a potato. But untuned Postgres vs MariaDB isn't a fair fight, and on complex joins/analytics PG usually wins.

Do you put the code up somewhere for all of this? because none of these tests you're doing are really relevant without knowing what the source code actually looks like. and the configurations as well too.

set synchronous_commit=off on postgres and it will go faster. also random_page_cost=1.1 and wal_level=minimal to level the disk write discrepancy

Can you share the db schema and how the indexes, primary keys, and foreign keys were configured on each engine for these examples? I did an evaluation for a customer once for a read-heavy system and Postgres came out in top then (this was 8 years ago 🫣 so take this with a grain of salt)
