Alto is already a massive success. With not a metre of track laid, it's already delivered cushy jobs with fat bonuses for Lieberal insiders., while preparing to funnel billions of tax dollars to disgraced corporate cronies. (Because all legitimate companies hide their indiscretions with a name change) Plus there is the added possibility of a massive land grab. All of this rammed though parliament with the barest of public "consultation", by the barest of, some would say illegitimate majorities, protected from scrutiny by NDAs signed with shady municipal representatives. Despite whatever technological breakthroughs may arise, nothing will ever move faster than the money.

Why is this needed, imagine if this money went into things that will generate income, like pipelines, power plants, mines …nope we will spend it on a train from Toronto to Montreal, it will cost 200 billion and need a subsidy of a 1 billion a year to keep it running , so someone can zip to Montreal for the weekend

Carney has done more harm than good, from his adviser role with Trudeau ro PM. Congratulations you and the liberal part have given Canadian's a lower standard of living. It is obvious that he cannot nor does he want to deal with Trump, in fact both their childish tit for tats are beneath the position he holds. I believe that the negotiation team as well are at a non functional level and have created so much animosity and discord. Its time for other people to be involved, multi provincial and representing each political party. Carney needs to take a step back or severely change his tone and attitude and realize the reality is we do need the states as a trade partner and if he needs to eat some crow fine because it was handled badly from the beginning. Again, Canada is now at a point where our liiving standard are lower, because of their failure to address their bad policies impacting economic growth, vanity projects, lack of oversight and sending billions of dollars outside of Canada at the peril of Canadian citizens.
