Some conditions and physical changes may occur alongside PCOS or share underlying factors such as insulin resistance, androgen activity, inflammation or hormonal changes including hidradenitis suppurativa and acanthosis nigricans. But an important distinction being mentioned here does NOT mean PCOS directly causes every condition in this carousel. For example, linea nigra, lipedema and varicose veins are not established signs of PCOS, even though some risk factors or hormonal influences may overlap.
