@maia_shops: For decades, Thechikottukavu Ramachandran became one of Kerala’s most famous temple elephants. Standing roughly 3.2 meters (10.5 feet) tall at the shoulder, his enormous size made people look tiny whenever he appeared before festival crowds. But Ramachandran’s story also had a darker side. Over his lifetime, he was involved in multiple fatal incidents involving both people and other elephants, leading authorities to periodically restrict his participation in public events. Yet thousands would still gather just to watch him appear. Decorated in gold, towering above the crowd, surrounded by people holding their phones into the air… he almost didn’t look like an ordinary elephant.
