Clockwork Faerie, a corsetierre who I trust, shows a tutorial for this on her Youtube channel. TLDR: Sewing gussets is really, really hard. I feel emotionally connected to the woman who sewed this. you go, girl. This piece is at the New Mexico history museum in Santa Fe.
