What type of surgery did you have? I was told by my physician that I couldn’t stretch my sleeve. So it couldn’t be expanding and shrinking.

So that medicine slows down the ‘processing’ of the food you eat. It stays there longer so you feel full. We would not do surgery on people on this medication for like 5-7 days because the food stays in the stomach for a while and we wanted to make sure it was all gone so they didn’t aspirate. I’m not sure if your stomach is smaller but it is ‘full’ longer.

I don’t understand why do you need glp1 if you had weight loss surgery?

Tirz slows your digestion down so therefore you stay filling fool longer is what I’m told so you eat less

Respectfully, if you had bypass surgery, how do you ensure you’re getting the proper nutrition while on a GLP-1? Do they have you see a registered dietician? Congratulations on regaining your health. 💕

I’m 4 years post op and I do feel full even quicker the first 4 days after my shot. You stomach isn’t shrinking. It’s taking longer to empty so food sits there longer. I had to go back to basics: the 30-30-30 rule, chew chew chew, and really listening for my full cues. Mine has always been a runny nose. Stop as soon as you feel that full cue.

It’s only part of it. I don’t know the med terms but it also is changing metabolism.

I feel like the weight loss surgery never did half of what the GLP1 has done for me

It slows your digestion and the food travels through a lot more slowly. If I take one bite too much I will literally throw up.

My husband did both, and he feels like it did shrink some. I’m sure it depends on how much you stretched it since your surgery.

Yes. Absolutely. I even get sick the same if I eat one more bite after I feel the “stop” signal.
