I am 62 years old and I have seen some iconic VMA's, but I can say without a second thought that THIS is the greatest performance ever and I'll fight you if you don't agree

Watch the original video on YouTube and you’ll understand why they were nominated. But it’s disappointing that they didn’t win because visually it was the best video of the year.

I am 45, I have seen every VMA performance, including their heyday. This was hands down the best performance I have EVER seen on the VMAs, probably all awards shows. It was so visually stunning, absolutely beautiful. And like you said, its because its stripped down. That's all choreography. There was no other focus, and it was more moving than anything I have seen from MTV. Thank you Yung Lean and Gener8ion, you made my heart soar. I cant stop watching it.

I didn't even watch most of the ceremony. I usually just wait until the performance show up on youtube. but I was curious as to what was on, so I turned it on to the VMAs. This was the performance I saw, and I was so in awe of it. I didn't even know about the song until this. it was so beautifully executed, and definitely the best of the night (if not one of the best)
