I have a 2013 Toyota Corolla. I bought it brand new and it has 176000 miles on it and still going strong. I plan on running it till it no longer goes. I love it!! Best car ever!!

I wouldn’t say any year Prius, the oldest ones need hybrid battery systems replaced. I went to Iceland and I drive a Jeep Wrangler [Tears of joy] but I bought it 8 years old and now it’s 16 years old. I walk to work.

The depreciation point is the key one here. Buying a reliable car after someone else has taken the steepest drop, and then keeping it for years, usually beats a lower monthly payment on a new car once insurance, taxes, and interest are counted too.
