The issue becomes more clear when you apply the outsider test for faith. If a Muslim believes their version of God could do no wrong, Christians are capable of understanding why that way thinking is problematic.

I understand the point you’re making about not dismissing someone’s testimony simply because it makes us uncomfortable. But I don’t think the analogy works when applied to questions about God. If a woman reports that a man abused her, we should take her seriously and investigate. But when someone concludes that God has done something morally abhorrent, the question of whether the action actually was wrong is part of what is being debated. We can’t assume the conclusion in order to prove the conclusion. And I agree that someone can study the Christian arguments and still find them unconvincing. That’s legitimate. But “I’ve researched this and still find it abhorrent” establishes a person’s moral judgment; it doesn’t by itself establish that God is actually immoral. That’s where I think intellectual humility matters on both sides. Christians shouldn’t dismiss difficult questions, but neither should atheists assume that finding a Christian answer unsatisfying means the Christian position has been refuted.

What I will say Sarah is there are higher layers of reality. This layer we are in only accounts for about 5 percent of the true reality. Its when deeper understanding is attained you begin to understand indeed God is good. Not to frighten you but if you research and remember on the news growing up about cattle mu t.ilations accross America those were done by high forces of darkness who forced their way into our layer of reality and God sent powerful angels to drive them out back to their realm and seal them from re-entering. That's why its also written in Luke 21:26 about mens hearts failing them. when we look from this layer it doesn't make sense but as you gain spiritual insight into deeper mysteries you will understand the actions God takes. But the time is coming when we will all understand as the last battle approaches between light and darkness. love and light win in the end but it will still be a difficult battle and we all have our part to play🙏🏾

You really misrepresent scripture. Wow. Yes God is good. His moral character is perfect Goodness. You may have read the Bible cover to cover but you did not understand what you read. God is consistently showing he prefers mercy over sacrifice. It’s the people who rebel. Corporate judgement is just that. Judgement. Always warranted and the people were not ignorant of God’s will for them.

You don't even believe in God... And you blame Him for everything..., everything you don't like. What did ancient cultures do to people? Did they sacrifice virgins to the volcano gods? Israel began offering their children to idols: roasting them in the fire. Lookvwhat happened to Israel. Today, we rip babies from the womb, and you applaud. And now that we are suffering the consequences of these actions, you blame God. Pain and suffering...what a terrible God. God would never allow pain and suffering. But, it's government that's causing the pain and suffering in the world. It's the Billionaires, the military powers...capitalism. What about Exxon/Mobil, PG&E, Dow chemical, Dupont, Monsanto-Bayer...etc. It must be God...that causes all the evil suffering in the world. And you still don't even believe in God, but blame Him for everything. But, the benefits you get, is ok with you...because you like cheap bananas. That's ok.
