Hi, I’ve noticed that I’m very affected by the people around me, especially family, friends and people I’m close to. I often have a certain picture in my mind of how my future will look — how I will be, how my relationships will be, and how other people will see me. In a way, I imagine myself being admired, confident and having a certain place in my social circle.
But I’m realizing that other people have their own lives, emotions, development and direction, and they don’t always change or behave in the way I imagined. Sometimes that really unsettles me, especially when I look back at things people have said or done and start thinking about how they might see me now.
It makes me wonder: With the Law of Assumption, do we create our experience of our relationships with other people through our assumptions about them and ourselves? And can we change the way we experience these relationships, even when other people are independent individuals with their own development and choices?
